How to prepare for a trip
We know you're excited. Here are some things to keep in mind before we dive into details:
- First of all, if you booked the trip more than 90 days in advance, your status enters pending. Generally, we confirm your seat within 48 hours from booking. We suggest to start preparing as soon as your status is confirmed.
- Generally, the trip page has all the essential trip information. So, pls keep it handy.
- At least two weeks before the start of your trip, we will email you a complete itinerary that includes all the information you need to know, including accommodation and airport transportation details.
- You'll be welcomed to a group chat before your journey so you can get to know the other Travelers and start exchanging information.
- When in doubt, pls refer to our travel FAQ section which has more details.
Getting ready for your adventure
Please check with the local embassy if you need a visa to travel. Embassy websites will always have information about requirements and visa costs and will provide the required forms. You must have a passport that is up to date and valid for at least six months after your return date in order to leave the country.
For your convenience, the majority of trips begin and end in a large city with an international airport. We recommend you book flights as soon as your spot is confirmed. In general, the flight costs more if you book close to the travel dates.
There may be restrictions on how much currency you can carry to a specific destination. It is a good idea to travel with a credit card and ATM card. Also having a couple of options would be wise just in case.
You may already have coverage through your work, credit card, or annual travel policy. If not, we strongly recommend you purchase one before your trip. We do hope you don’t face a situation where you need to use it, but let’s agree, life happens.
We recommend that you pack clothes & accessories that are comfortable and that will be well suited to the activities and climate specific to your expedition. We advise you to pack lightly as we will be using shared transportation.
While it’s not a requirement, we continue to strongly recommend that all travelers get vaccinated to protect themselves and others. Specific proof of testing or vaccination may still be required by your destination or airline. Please see our Covid-19 section for more details.
